Bipolar disorder is also known as BPD or perhaps known as manic depression and is a disorder that's characterized by severe mood swings. Moodiness happens to all of us; however, a person that has bipolar disorder suffers from extremes of both major depression and extreme enjoyment as well as over optimism.

Sometimes it is dangerous since the depression may be so severe these people can't function during those times and think about or even act out thoughts of suicide. On the other hand, the excited (upswing) may lead to risky conduct such as over spending, and activities they might not normally participate in.

Many persons with bipolar mood disorder may also enjoy times of normality between the mood swings where they function and feel much like everyone else. Certain people with BPD might experience mood swings often and of shorter duration and others could have lengthier durations of each mood.

Bipolar disorder may start as early as the teen years but a diagnosis may be delayed because the moodiness could be ignored as being normal teen moodiness or even attributed to ADHD. By age 25, the symptoms are more definite and a diagnosis made less difficult.

Further complicating a proper diagnosis of BPD is the fact an individual might experience mixed states and have signs and symptoms of both depressive and manic states present at the same time.

The cause of BPD are not known, some researchers believe there might be a hereditary connection however research results are inconsistent. However, persons that later develop BPD may display signs and symptoms in childhood. Based on some research the signs and symptoms are so subtle they can be easily mistaken as normal behavior or another matter like ADHD.

Adults being affected by BPD will have difficulties in most aspects of their lives. The high periods cause these people to become over upbeat, engage in high risk conduct, as well as be financially indiscreet or sexually promiscuous. These issues can be endless.

During periods of depression, the individual struggling with bipolar mood disorder may not be in a position to function or to maintain employment. Committing suicide can be a danger also.

There's a lot of drugs that might be used to deal with BPD. The explanation for that is that though certain prescription drugs are effective on some individuals, other people show absolutely no signs of improvement.

Lithium is the only prescription medication proven to reduce the occurrence of committing suicide in despondent BPD patients. The drug Lamotrigine has been shown to be successful in protecting against depression symptoms in some bipolar sufferers. Antipsychotic drugs might be used to treat agitation of the BPD patient while in the manic phases.

When signs and symptoms are relieved and mood swings are in remission the affected person still must continue taking the medication or a backslide is likely. Certain people with BPD describe the effect of the medicine as causing them to feel dull or drugged. This complicates treatment compliance with sufferers with BPD.

There are successful treatments for persons with bipolar disorder and mood stabilizers can be a major portion of the treatment plan when helping stabilize the patient with bipolar disorder. Because the moodiness may be so harmful to personal relationships, financial status and job performance BPD is going to be treated aggressively in most instances.

HIV is an acronym for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. This specific virus is recognized as potentially deadly because of the fact that it creates the sickness generally known as AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Within the time of 1985, this kind of virus has been identified.

After additional examination of the virus, it had been determined that it could be successfully transported by one particular man or women to another from the exchange or transmission of body fluids that are part of our bodies. Effortlessly, the body fluids from a minimum of one human being must be infected with HIV so as to transmit the virus to different man or women.

There are numerous distinctive body liquids which may transmit HIV from just one man to another. Such as blood coming from virtually any part of the body, sperm from gentlemen, secretions belonging to the vagina in females, and even milk that is provided from the chests. Individuals may become afflicted by these kinds of liquids in many different ways.

Despite the fact that by far the most frequent ways of transmission is sexual contact, many may well acquire the virus though the way of a transfusion of blood, and by sharing sharp needles that inject drugs and/or illicit neighborhood drugs into your entire body through an individual that is infected themselves. Youngsters which were born to infected females could acquire that virus through the birthing process. It's also a fact that in case a toddler feeds from the breasts of an infected mom, they will get HIV.

HIV is considered for destroying the immune system of the body in several different ways. Obviously, as the body is suppressed, the actual normal defenses of the body turn into drained as well as totally nonexistent.

HIV has the capability of spreading simply by attaching by themselves to exactly what is known as "CD4 Cells". When tied, the virus practically inserts that certain cell together with special proteins the fact that define the chemical make-up. This process continues and the virus spreads immediately. In the last stages with the virus, AIDS evolves.

In recent times there has been many references to stuttering and brain problems being related. This has never been proven, but researchers have raised the possibility of a relation between stuttering and the brains anatomy that is responsible for speech patterns.

There has not been any merit between stuttering and the disturbance of speech patterns. Many people still believe that there is no direct connection between the the two. Emotional stress still leads in public opinion.

The answer to the problem of stuttering for most is psychology. The theory of associating stuttering to the brain is a more complex analogy that is now being studied.

The truth is that more often than not, stuttering is natural when it occurs in young children. The brain analogy can only be used for children that have passed the toddler years.

Parents dealing with stuttering in children above the age of 3 may want to consider all the options. A stuttering brain analogy can then become of the many options they should include in the search for a solution.

Before a parent takes a child to a psychologist to determine whether a stuttering brain exist, they may want to study the problem closer. One way to differentiate whether a condition is more serious is by noticing the reaction of a child when speaking.

Stammering when speaking is a warning sign. When a child stammers and stomps their feet to get their words out, this might be a deeper issue than just breathing techniques.

There are different levels of stuttering in children as well as different solutions. If you suspect that your child may have a stuttering problem, the first thing you should do is assess the proper solutions for getting this problem resolved.

Stuttering and brain problems has become a new theory for the cause of stuttering. Researchers are still at work on this theory, but there has been no definitive relation revealed.

There has not been any merit between stuttering and the disturbance of speech patterns. Many people still believe that there is no direct connection between the the two. Emotional stress still leads in public opinion.

Many are resisting the thought that stuttering and the brain functions are related. It is more easier however for them to accept the psychological analogies that has been used in the past.

Stuttering in young children is a natural occurrence that goes along with their development. Any theories such as a stuttering brain can only come into account after a child has surpassed the age of three.

Parents dealing with stuttering in children above the age of 3 may want to consider all the options. A stuttering brain analogy can then become of the many options they should include in the search for a solution.

There are different levels of stuttering that may or may not be as severe. The best way to make a decision of whether a case is severe enough is by monitoring the characteristics of a child's stuttering patterns.

Stammering is definitely a sign that special attention may be needed. Characteristics of stammering includes stomping of the feet and herky jerky reactions just to get a word out.

There are different levels of stuttering in children as well as different solutions. If you suspect that your child may have a stuttering problem, the first thing you should do is assess the proper solutions for getting this problem resolved.

by Anne Durrell

Detecting ADHD is commonly done with an ADHD test. It has nothing to do with any blood test since ADHD is a mental disorder, not diagnosable through basic medical tests.

The American Psychiatric Association

APA or American Psychiatric Association has made a list of fourteen behavioral checkpoints to test for ADHD. According to their checklist, children must show at least eight of the checkpoints to be diagnosed with ADHD.

Observation Test for Problems with ADHD Behavioral

So many children are misdiagnosed as having ADHD. One of the major reasons that ADHD is misdiagnosed is that testing is purely observational and so biased.

A doctor giving test may be less able to accept certain behavior than any other doctor would be and may say it as a trouble when other doctor would consider it normal. Because of this, ADHD testing is often done as a collaborative effort where teacher, parents and doctors all give their thoughts about a child's behavior.

It is also not seldom for parents to consider their child has ADHD just because they are with them more often and regular ADHD behaviors can be not easy to deal with. A kid can only be considered to have a problem when they are showing a sign frequently on everyday life.

ADHD Test Sample

The following is a sample of checklist items that would be found on a comprehensive ADHD test:

* Is lazy at school

* Substance abuse, learning troubles or family history of ADD or ADHD

* Easily distracted.

* Cannot pay attention to any detail

* Intelligible writing.

* Cannot listen

* Cannot remember

* Troubles with learning things

* Appear agitated

* Nervous or anxious behavior

* Poor interaction skills

* Trouble controlling impulses

* Easily getting bored

* Careless speaking

* Irritated

* Careless mistakes

* Cannot organized

by Anne Durrell

Bipolar medication is required on a consistent basis and is usually part of a lifelong treatment of the disorder. There is no cure for bipolar, so medication is the best chance for keeping symptoms at bay.

Bipolar Medication is important

Bipolar medication will help a person with the disorder to elevate symptoms so they can live a normal life. Medication is usually combined with therapy to provide an overall treatment of the disorder.

If the disorder stops taking their medicine, though, it is very much likely that warning signs will return swiftly. The disorder should never go off their medication without consulting with the doctor.

The types of Medication Used

Bipolar syndrome is a mood disorder, which is characterize by the mood changes from very highs to very lows and Lithium is the common meds used for the disorders.

Sometimes, anti depressants and anti seizure meds are used. Generally, though, moos stabilizers are the very first thing and tried before other meds.

It can take as long as two weeks for the mood stabilizing med to start working. So that it is very important for doctor to explain that the medication may take some time to work.

Lithium

Many people know how Lithium works, since it is the oldest drug used and it is the most commonly used medication for bipolar disorders. It is widely known very safe and any troubles with the medications are showed very quickly.

The common side effects from lithium include:

* Fatigue

* A serious Diarrhea

* Nausea

* Frequent urination

* Trembles

* Over weight

The bipolar medication used will be taken based on the individual patient. For some people, bipolar does not cause main mood change, but only the episodes are serious.

Occasionally, a doctor will check the patient's mood changes to find out the best bipolar medications would be. But for some people, the depressive attack generally most severe and that is when they would need an anti depressant.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is a behavioral disorder. It can cause impulsive actions, hyperactivity and the inability to focus or concentrate.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can affect both adults and children. To find out what is ADHD, you have to understand the symptoms, and the affects as well as the way it is treated.

The Warning Signs

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder warning signs can be confusing since many of the symptoms are just natural behaviors that children show in childhood. The difference between Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder symptoms and natural behavior, though, is that in a kid with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder the behavior are showed frequently on a regular basis.

Another problem about knowing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder warning signs is that they can be varying greatly. Not only will they different from kid to kid, but also a kid may have varied warning signs over the course of time.

The most familiar ADHD symptoms include:

* Twitching

* Excessive talking

* Unable to communicate their thoughts

* Inappropriate behavior

* Excessive energy

* Unable to focus

The Effects

ADHD can greatly affect a person's life. For children it can cause bad grades and discipline problems in school. It can cause disruption in families, too.

In adults, ADHD can cause problems with work and family life. A person with ADHD can make careless mistakes, may not complete tasks and lack organizational skills.

Handling

Handling of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder usually involves prescription. One thing that is most used by doctors to treat a person with ADHD is stimulants. The stimulants can cause a reverse affect in patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and help calm them down.

Medication is also used to help the person with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and their family learns to deal with the symptoms and learn what is ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

It can be difficult to say exactly what is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Somehow, for someone suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or those who have a loved one with it, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can cause many troubles and is very factual.

There are many debates around Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, but through frequent study and well research, more and more data is being discovered every day.

The first steps on stopping bedwetting is knowing the cause of the condition. Bedwetting is often caused by anxiety or stress, but there are some other factors that may create the problem.

The first thing that must be understood when dealing with a child with enuresis (medical term for bedwetting) is to never chastise the child. The embarrassment of this uncontrollable condition is enough to bring upon low self esteem.

It is important not to make the child that is dealing with wetting the bed not feel hopeless or shameful. The more guilt and embarrassment they feel, the harder it will be to resolve the situation correctly.

A reward system is a more effective measure when dealing with children who wet their bed. This system is not the absolute answer to how to stop bedwetting, but what it will do is make the child more conscious about waking up at night to relieve themselves.

There are several different techniques that have been used as a solution depending on each individual case. Some bedwetting sufferers have found that hypnosis and other measures like chiropractic re-alignment is a viable solution.

The choice you make for yourself or your family depends on whether the bedwetting is a medical condition. Many bedwetting scenario are brought upon by factors that are have nothing to do with anxiety, mental stress or abuse.

A good example of a medical condition that cannot be solved without medical intervention is bedwetting due to bladder problems. This is a condition that is common in women after going through a pregnancy.

Eliminating medical condition as the source of the bedwetting problem will make finding the solution much easier. The battle of learning how to stop bed wetting is not a battle without effort, but it can be solved by using proven strategies that work.
