Another treatment would be the creation of a paste that should be left on the sore areas over night. This paste is made of equal parts mustard powder and whole wheat powder and some water. The paste can be covered in gauze while you sleep if you want. Two cups of Epsom salts in some warm water will help with gout in the toes. Soak your toes in the water until it becomes cool and the pain should ease. Additionally having a cloth soaked in warm Castor oil on the affected parts will help.

What Is Gout?

People often asked what is gout? Gout is one of the commonest forms of arthritic complaint which can target several joints of the body, causing noticable enlargement, inflammation and serious pain. It frequently affects the big toe joint, however it can affect any of your joints including:

The indiscriminate nature of gout makes attacks are almost impossible to predict and sadly if they are not treated, it can cause future attacks to be more numerous prolonged in some cases resulting in enduring harm to the joint.

What is Gout caused by? It is the consequence of a build-up of uric acid commonly referred to as urate, in the bloodstream. The urate becomes over saturated creating crystals which jam in the affected joints. Microscopic pictures of urate crystals show them to be sharp and almost needle like. Urate is usually a harmless waste product which is produced by the body when it breaks down certain substances in foods known as purines. Sometimes however the body cannot emit all of the urate that is produced leading to the creation of the crystals.

Gout is widespread and there are a number of effective therapies and medicines that can help relieve pain, reduce inflammation and prevent future attacks. These include both natural and man made remedies.
